Discipline Engineer

Description:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.Tech/BE) or related discipline (Chartered Engineer certification preferred).

Minimum 12 years of experience in the oil & gas (offshore) industry with strong mechanical/piping engineering expertise. At least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role, managing engineers and technical teams.

Extensive knowledge of project execution phases including design, construction, and commissioning.

Strong understanding of industry codes, standards, and best practices in mechanical/piping engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise construction teams to ensure smooth execution of mechanical/piping activities within scope, schedule, and budget.

Review & approve engineering drawings, designs, work packages, method statements, and risk assessments.

Conduct regular site inspections ensuring compliance with HSE guidelines and project quality standards.

Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluation to junior engineers and technicians.

Monitor & control discipline-specific budgets and resources for cost efficiency and productivity.

Collaborate with project management and multidisciplinary teams to align discipline requirements with project goals.

Prepare and submit progress reports, ensuring accurate documentation and contract deliverables.

Lead troubleshooting and problem-solving for technical issues and ensure corrective actions.

Act as primary liaison with clients, contractors, and stakeholders on all mechanical/piping discipline matters.

Support commissioning and handover processes.
