Distribution Manager

Description:

Responsibilities
 

• Develop and implement distribution strategies to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the distribution center, including receiving, picking, packing, and shipping.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.
• Monitor inventory levels and manage stock rotation to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
• Implement and enforce safety procedures and standards to maintain a safe working environment.
• Train and supervise distribution center staff, including hiring, scheduling, and performance management.
• Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure productivity, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
• Analyze data and trends to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as logistics, sales, and customer service, to ensure seamless coordination of activities.
• Resolve any issues or concerns related to distribution operations, including order discrepancies, damaged goods, and delivery delays.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies, including transportation regulations and quality standards.
• Stay informed of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement in distribution operations.
   

Requirements
 

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
• Proven experience in distribution management, preferably in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.
• Strong knowledge of distribution processes, procedures, and best practices.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and coach a diverse team.
• Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software applications.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
