Opening for Laboratory Technologist ( Semen Analysis) (M)
Location : Hamad Medical Corporation, Doha Qatar
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences
OR
- Basic Science degree related to Laboratory Medicine and Pathology
Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Fertility / Andrology / IVF Lab specifically covering the key skills mentioned below.
Key Skills & Responsibilities
- Ability to educate patients and receive samples according to WHO guidelines
- Perform routine and advanced semen analysis as per WHO standards
- Conduct sperm count and concentration using hemocytometer and Makler chamber
- Classify motility according to WHO criteria
- Prepare, stain, and interpret morphology slides based on Strict Kruger Criteria
- Handle cases of Azoospermia and Cryptozoospermia
- Perform vitality testing
- Conduct post-orgasmic urine tests and search for sperm in biopsy material
- Perform sperm washing techniques including swim-up and density gradient
- Knowledge and ability to perform sperm cryopreservation
- Conduct special tests such as fructose, antisperm antibody, benzidine test
- Perform Sperm DNA Fragmentation testing
- Ability to conduct semen analysis using CASA (Computer Assisted Semen Analysis)
